I have rediscovered this blog and will attempt to resurrect it in the coming weeks.
The Five Year Blur
Here I will share some odd things from my viewpoint as a mom of five, as a child of the 70's and as an odd person in general. I will also show off some of the most wonderful things I find on the internet, all unique or handmade, some of them I have made. Hopefully you will enjoy seeing what I find and share with your friends.

Clown Brain Cereal
Sugar Cereals - When my kids were little I told them sugar cereal was really called Clown Brain Cereal because eating a lot of it made your brain only suitable for being a clown. One day we were in one of the big supermarkets in Missoula and we saw a lady pushing her cart through the aisles. My son saw Sugar Cereals in her cart and and announced in a non quiet voice, "Mom, look at all the Clown Brain Cereal!" I avoided the lady's eyes as we walked past.

Little Red Door at Etsy
I have loved this shop for a few years now, ever since I first came across it in my Etsy wanderings. She makes the cutest little ceramic miniature houses and trees, buildings and some other things too. Once I saw a tiny T.V. set in her shop. Please check out her creations at this link. Here is one of my current favs from her shop.

Goodies for the Seamstress
I love handsewing but always seem to lose my best needles. I finally figured something out, I can make a little Needlebook with the 8 inch sample prints I ordered from Spoonflower. This way all those test squares get used and I can make something lovely and useful with them. Here is a photo of how they look.
I found some lovely larger buttons for the closures, the wool pages are made from wonderful wool I bought from a great shop on Etsy, QuiltingAcres. She has great eye candy wool and I buy it whenever I have extra money. What have you made with your Spoonflower test samples?

Bird Fanatic
I seem to gravitate towards Birds this time of year, they have started to chirp in the mornings when the sun comes out for a few minutes. I have found a few lovely and interesting Bird items on Etsy and thought I would share a couple of them.

Both are top quality prints and would look great on any wall. I think it would be neat to see cartoony birds like this flying around outside my windows.
